The Ripon College Student Senate continues to bleed money out of every orifice as the One-Fund nears a record low.
At the April 22 meeting of Student Senate, new business began with the Network presenting their newly overhauled constitution to senators. The revisions passed for the first week.
SIFE presented a one-fund to send students to the national competition in Philadelphia. Although there was an increase in the cost of the hotel rooms for the stay, the one-fund passed.
Psi Chi and Beta Beta Beta presented a one-fund to pay for programs to assist the research symposium the two co-sponsored. The one-fund passed.
Budget hearings for next year were brought up for senators to discuss with the opinion of the budget hearing committee in mind.
The April 29 Student Senate meeting began with passing the Network constitution for the second week. The revisions passed for the second week, causing the organization's new constitution to be set in place.
Old business finished with the passing of all of the student organization budgets for the second week, officially establishing the budget and excess money for the one-fund next year.
FORCE one-funded for the next year, asking for finances to purchase pizza for a party to get more involvement on campus and to give gifts to each student to encourage them to donate to the annual fund. Senators split the one-fund and supported the idea of a party to increase involvement in FORCE, and that portion of the one-fund passed. The other gifts presented through the one-fund failed.
The Ripon College Republicans one-funded to take students to a conference. The one-fund passed.
The orientation committee presented a one-fund to bring ComedySportz to campus during summer and fall orientation to help welcome the class of 2013. The one-fund passed.
The spotlight committee of SMAC one-funded for more equipment for staging the concerts at Springfest. They tried to offset those costs by asking for donations from local businesses, but they were unsuccessful. The one-fund passed.
The senior class board one-funded for a second bus and 35 more tickets to take seniors to the Brewers game during senior week. The one-fund passed.
